Dead Fred's Genealogy Photo Archive, a free, fun photo genealogy research web site devoted to helping you visualize your heritage!

Dear readers,

Please help us keep DeadFred alive. 90% of our expenses are supported by donations averaging $5. Not many visitors contribute. If each visitor reading this right now gave $2, our fundraiser would be done by the time you finish reading this. That's right, the price of a large can of soda would do it.

If DeadFred is helpful to you, please take a moment to help us. We are a very small group of volunteers serving thousands of readers daily with very little outside support. DeadFred is a place to share and discover the faces of your ancestors. The funds we receive go toward maintaining and improving your chances of discovery. Please help us so we can continue to help you.

Thank you,
Joe Bott

Comments: Lorenzo D Libby (Nee: ) | Carmel Me United States | 1851-1900 | Comments: Found in grandmother's photo album, believe one of the two men shown is Lorenzo Libby. Found newspaper clipping on same page of album, see clipping text below. If anyone can help identify this man, or confirm this identity, would be greatly appreciated. "LORENZO D. LIBBY IS DEAD: Lorenzo D. Libby, of Lisbon Falls, died at his home in that town Friday morning of paralysis of the brain. Mr. Libby was well known in Eastern Maine, many of the most important pieces of masonry which have been built in this vicinity during the last decade have been constructed under his personal supervision. He was born at St. Albans, in 1842. He served bravely during the Civil War and at its close lived for many years at Old Town, where his friends and neighbors remember him as a most genial, kind-hearted man. The last ten or 12 years of his life, he was a resident of Lisbon Falls. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Lizzie Libby, one son, B. W. Libby, and a daughter, the wife of H. 7. Plummer, of Lisbon Falls, to whom the sympathy of a large circle of friends is extended in their great affection."
