Comments: John Henry Brickner (Nee: ) | Decorah IA United States | | Comments: Henry Ignatius Brickner was born in 1832 in York Co. PA. He married Julia Shank (b. 1830 Falling Waters, VA) on May 10, 1854 in Martinsburg, VA. They moved to Decorah, IA by the time of their third child's birth in Nov 1859. Henry and Julia had at least 11 children. Eight are in the photo and the girls' married names are penned on the back of the photo after their names: John Henry (b. 1861), Edward Grant (b. 1866), Hattie May (b. 1868 - married SMITH), Susan Elizabeth "Lizzie" (b. 1869 married MARLOW), Joan Anna "Joanna" (b. 1871 married BAUSCHER [? not easy to read], Sidney Eugene (b. 1873), Grace Maud (b. 1875 married RUTH), and Clement Robert (b. 1877). Photo has penned on the back, "Grandpa Brickner, "Grandma Brickner" and then a list of the children.
