The eldest son of Louise von Gahlen and Eduard Ferdinand Jonghaus. He went to England as a young man probably to learn about the cotton trade. Married Elizabeth Emily Gorton daughter of James Gorton gentleman on 18th August 1868 at St. Mark’s church in the parish of Woodhouse Yorkshire. There was a son of this marriage Hermann Wilhelm Jonghaus born around 1870. Elizabeth Jonghaus nee Gorton died. Hermann then married Mary Chadwick daughter of Thomas Chadwick gentleman on 12th July 1871 at Prestwich Parish Church Lancashire. There was one son of this marriage Thomas Chadwick Jonghaus born 13th March 1873 in Gerresheim near Düsseldorf Germany. The family returned to live in England 4 years later. Hermann became a Naturalised British subject in 1877. He died in Southport Lancashire in 1911. It is believed that his elder son Hermann Wilhelm settled in the USA. Thomas became a solicitor in Manchester. The family name was changed to Younghouse in 1914. Looking for further information about those mentioned. Er ging als junger Mann nach England, wahrscheinlich, um das Baumwollgeschäft zu erlernen. Er heiratete Elizabeth Emily Gorton, Tochter von James Gorton, Berufsangabe "Gentleman", am 18. August 1868 in der St. Markus - Kirche ("St. Mark’s church") in der Gemeinde Woodhouse, Yorkshire. Aus dieser Ehe entstammte ein Sohn, Hermann Wilhelm Jonghaus, geb. um 1870. Elisabeth Jonghaus geb. Gorton starb. Danach heiratete Hermann Mary Chadwick, Tochter von Thomas Chadwick, Beruf "Gentleman", am 12. Juli 1871 In der Kirche der Gemeinde Prestwich in Lancashire. Ein Sohn aus dieser Ehe, Thomas Chadwick Jonghaus, wurde am 13. März 1873 in Gerresheim bei Düsseldorf, Deutschland, geboren. Die Familie kehrte 4 Jahre später nach England zurück, um dort zu leben. Hermann wurde 1877 Britischer Staatsbürger. Er starb 1911 in Southport, Lancashire. Es wird angenommen, dass sein ältester Sohn, Hermann Wilhelm, in die USA auswanderte.
