Dead Fred's Genealogy Photo Archive, a free, fun photo genealogy research web site devoted to helping you visualize your heritage!

Dear readers,

Please help us keep DeadFred alive. 90% of our expenses are supported by donations averaging $5. Not many visitors contribute. If each visitor reading this right now gave $2, our fundraiser would be done by the time you finish reading this. That's right, the price of a large can of soda would do it.

If DeadFred is helpful to you, please take a moment to help us. We are a very small group of volunteers serving thousands of readers daily with very little outside support. DeadFred is a place to share and discover the faces of your ancestors. The funds we receive go toward maintaining and improving your chances of discovery. Please help us so we can continue to help you.

Thank you,
Joe Bott

Comments: Charles Victor Emmanuel Swanson (Nee: ) | New York NY Sweden | 1901-1920 | Comments: I have been able to identify this photo as that of my Great Grandfather, Carl Vicktor Emmanuel Svenson (Charles Swanson) He was sent to a T.B. Sanitorium in Arizona about 1919 where he died in 1920. His body was shipped back to New York City for burial at St. Michaels Cemetery in Astoria, Queens. A Swedish person was able to translate the writing on the back of the photo to help identify it, and with that information I was able to confirm a family story that my Great Grandfather was sent to Arizona to recover from T.B. and that he had died there. I found his death certificate there.
