Comments: Ruth Edie DeVinney (Nee: ) | Greeley CO United States | 1851-1900 | Comments: I have an old studio photograph of Lena Margaret BARR and Ruth Eddie DEVINNEY which was taken at the Baker Studio in Greeley, CO in the 1890's. Lena is noted as born 28 Feb 1896 and Ruth is born 14 Jan 1896. The two are just infants at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding the two infants and their families: Lena Margaret BARR was b. 18 or 28 Feb 1896 in Greeley, CO to parents Robert Macindoe BARR (1863-1934) and Lena Myrtle DEVINNEY (1872-1942). Lena was one of 6 children born to this couple including Lena Margaret; Robert “Bob” Cecil; John “Jack” Macindoe; Agnes “Bobbie” Rose or Roseanne; George Harold; and Roberta Lee BARR, all born between 1896 and 1914. Lena married Clarence Kinsner LONGTON (1891-1968) and she died 25 Jul 1981 in Sacramento, CA and is buried in the Woodland Cemetery in Woodland, CA. Ruth Edie DEVINNEY was b. 14 Jan 1896 in Colorado to parents Robert W. DEVINNEY (1847-1915) and Margaret “Maggie” Jane EDIE (1856-1947) who were married 14 Oct 1886 in Perry Co., IL. Ruth was one of three children born to this couple though her two brothers both died at birth in 1889 and she had two half-siblings from her father’s previous marriage including Lena Myrtle DEVINNEY BARR (1872-1942) and Mary “Sadie” Ethel DEVINNEY GODFREY (1877-1964). Ruth married Maurice William STANDISH (1896-1991) on 29 Dec 1920 in LaSalle, CO and she died May 1985 in Delta, CO and is buried in the Olathe Cemetery in Olathe, CO.
