Dead Fred's Genealogy Photo Archive, a free, fun photo genealogy research web site devoted to helping you visualize your heritage!

Dear readers,

Please help us keep DeadFred alive. 90% of our expenses are supported by donations averaging $5. Not many visitors contribute. If each visitor reading this right now gave $2, our fundraiser would be done by the time you finish reading this. That's right, the price of a large can of soda would do it.

If DeadFred is helpful to you, please take a moment to help us. We are a very small group of volunteers serving thousands of readers daily with very little outside support. DeadFred is a place to share and discover the faces of your ancestors. The funds we receive go toward maintaining and improving your chances of discovery. Please help us so we can continue to help you.

Thank you,
Joe Bott

(1/22/16)who writes Florence Nichols Bassett was the daughter of Francis John Bassett, and Erie photographer, and his wife, Dorinda Edna Nichols Bassett. Florence was a teacher and an artist. She was a of Helen May Pelton who once lived in Erie, but moved to Christiansburg, Montgomery County, Virginia. Our family has two photos of Florence, one take by Nichols Photography in Hastings, Nebraska, when she was 15 in 1887, and another taken in Erie in 1893 by Bassett. Based on these photos, it appears that Florence is the one standing next to the man with dark hair and glasses (near the back on the right side of the photo). She has the fluffy hair and big eyes.
