Dead Fred's Genealogy Photo Archive, a free, fun photo genealogy research web site devoted to helping you visualize your heritage!

Dear readers,

Please help us keep DeadFred alive. 90% of our expenses are supported by donations averaging $5. Not many visitors contribute. If each visitor reading this right now gave $2, our fundraiser would be done by the time you finish reading this. That's right, the price of a large can of soda would do it.

If DeadFred is helpful to you, please take a moment to help us. We are a very small group of volunteers serving thousands of readers daily with very little outside support. DeadFred is a place to share and discover the faces of your ancestors. The funds we receive go toward maintaining and improving your chances of discovery. Please help us so we can continue to help you.

Thank you,
Joe Bott

Comments: MAGGIE SAHLSTROM (Nee: OLSON) | | 1851-1900 | Comments: She has been identified on the back as Maggie Olson (Sahlstrom). POSSIBLY MARGARET SAHLSTROM OR MARGARET SALSTROM I did some research and was able to find a Maggie Salstrom (missing the h) in Minneapolis Minnesota. Maggie was born in September 1864 in Sweden (which may account for the missing H). On the 1900 US Census she is listed as a widowed head of her own household with 2 children. (I also located a number of Sahlstroms in Minnesota with the first name Magaret in some form, but none lived in Minneapolis). The photographers information is printed on the bottom of the Cabinet Card and on the back. On front it reads Herghstedt 226 & 228 Washington Ave S. Minneapolis, Minn. On back there is additional information which reads Negatives Preserved From Oleson Gallery, 226 & 228 Washington, Ave. South, Minneapolis, Minn. Please note the different photographers names. I wonder whether Herghstedt is a photographer at the Oleson Gallery or whether one is a successor photographer? REPOSTED HERE FROM EBAY WITH KIND PERMISSION OF OWNER
