Dead Fred's Genealogy Photo Archive, a free, fun photo genealogy research web site devoted to helping you visualize your heritage!

Dear readers,

Please help us keep DeadFred alive. 90% of our expenses are supported by donations averaging $5. Not many visitors contribute. If each visitor reading this right now gave $2, our fundraiser would be done by the time you finish reading this. That's right, the price of a large can of soda would do it.

If DeadFred is helpful to you, please take a moment to help us. We are a very small group of volunteers serving thousands of readers daily with very little outside support. DeadFred is a place to share and discover the faces of your ancestors. The funds we receive go toward maintaining and improving your chances of discovery. Please help us so we can continue to help you.

Thank you,
Joe Bott

Comments: (Nee: ) | Bedford IN United States | 1851-1900 | Comments: The card belonged to my grandmother Emma Mitchell May and before her belonged to her grandparents William and Susan (Storm) Burch. There is no inscription on the card but family tradition had that it was "Aunt Mat" Martha Matilda Burch b. 1873 (William & Susan's daughter) However I would date the photo no earlier than the 1880s which makes it too early to be her. William had a cousin named Matilda Ann Burch 1857-1907 who lived next door to them at the end of her life. If it truly is a Matilda Burch the date seem more likely for her. However the Matilda identification could also be a mislead. It could just be wrong.
