The house still stands and the leaded window is still there! Ida was my paternal grandmother. She was born in 1894 in Clay Center and died in 1968 in Tampa, FL. She and her childhood sweetheart, Jason Westerman Newton, eloped in 1915. Her parents were George Edward Priest and Susan Lucinda Strong. Both Ida and her mother Susan were known for their beauty.
