Comments: Clarence Burton Tubman (Nee: ) | Lincoln NE | 1901-1920 | Comments: ****ORIGINAL AVAILABLE FOR A FEE**** First, this was an interesting research project. :) Clarence Burton Tubman was born 08 Jan 1878 in Monroe Centre, DeKalb, IL to John Tubman (1853-1930) and Eunice Streight (1856-1951). He first married Mamie Katherine Miller (1880-1951) on 01 June 1904 in Lincoln, Lancaster, NE. Between 1904 and 1907, it appears that Clarence and Mamie had a rocky marriage. In these three years, he had been reported missing, he attempted to sell his house and his wife filed for divorce. The divorce case caused arguments of alimony and property issues that inolved Mamie's mother. Fraud was alleged with Mamie improperly signing a property deed, etc. They must have reconciled at some point because in 1906, it appears that Mamie filed for separation and yet the divorce suit was dropped four months later. In 1907, Mamie files for divorce for an apparent third time and it was then granted 09 Nov 1907. Clarence Tubman then married Grace Belle Crandall 09 May 1908 in Wahoo, Saunders, NE; however, Grace files for divorce in 1910. Clarence and Grace do have one child: Dorothy Irene Tubman who was born 16 May 1909; however, the child unfortunately died 04 Aug 1909. Clarence then marries Elsa Elisabet Moberg; however, the date of the marriage has not yet been confirmed. It appears to have occurred between the divorce of 1910 and 1915 when their first child, Lucille Edla Tubman (1915-1920) was born. Clarence and Elsa would have a total of four children: Lucille Edla, Frances Lorraine (1918-1987), Kenneth LeRoy (1926-1985), and Rolland James (1926-2011). Clarence Burton Tubman died 20 Aug 1959 Lincoln, Lancaster, NE (this was only listed on Find-a-Grave -I've been unable to confirm this through research).
