He served in the army during W. W. I and as a colonel during W. W. II. He attended the University of Oregon and worked in the banking industry. His death occurred on 11 Oct 1992 in Portland, OR and he was buried at River View Cemetery. He was the son of Captain Julius Allyn (a riverboat captain on the Columbia River) and Maude Pope, who were married 6 Jun 1895 in Multnomah Co., Oregon. Julius was born 23 Sep 1858 in Posey County, IN and died 15 May 1947 in Portland, Oregon. When Julius was a small child, his parents (Ethan and Christiana/Christina Phillips Allyn) moved from Posey County to Lodi,Wisconsin. Later they moved to Silverton, Oregon and from there to Washougal, Washington. C Ethan Allyn (4 Mar 1835-2 Apr 1909) was the son of Jehial Allyn and his first wife, Sarah Ann Evans. Jehial was the son of Peleg and Mary Lobdell Allyn, who moved from Rensselaerville, NY to Cayuga Co., NY and finally to Posey County, IN, early in the 19th century.
