Shell jacket is cavalry, stripes are for 2 years (so far) service. Joseph b 26 June 1822 Chatham, MA m 1853 Harriet Stymer, b 1835 the daughter of Martin Stymer and Anna Perry. Joseph died 16 Jul 1873 in Providence RI, Harriet died 12 Nov 1914 Providence. They are buried Mineral Springs Cemetery, Pawtucket.
