Comments: Timothy Lathrop Miller (Nee: ) | Breecher IL United States | 1851-1900 | Comments: This picture of Timothy Lathrop Miller appears on page 2 of The American Breeders Magazine, vol.II, no.1, 1911. Please see that reference for more details. There is a biographical sketch of him on pages 4,6 of that volume. Mr. Miller was born in New England, USA in 1817. He learned the trade of a butcher and later he was engaged in the insurance business in Chicago, Illinois. He later settled on a farm of about a thousand acres in Breecher, Illinois, some thirty miles from Chicago. He became a breeder of livestock. For a time be published a periodical dedicated to Hereford cattle. He also published the American Herd Book of Hereford Cattle. He wrote a history of Hereford cattle, which he finished just before his death in 1900. That is all the information I have on this picture. I am not researching this line, just saw the photo and thought I'd post it.
