Dead Fred's Genealogy Photo Archive, a free, fun photo genealogy research web site devoted to helping you visualize your heritage!

Dear readers,

We need your help. 90% of our expenses are covered by donations averaging $10, though not many visitors contribute. If each visitor reading this right now gave $2, we would have enough to operate DeadFred for a year. That's right, the price of a bottle of soda would do it. If DeadFred is helpful to you, please take a moment to help us. We are a very small group of volunteers serving thousands of readers daily with very little outside support. DeadFred is a place to share and discover the faces of your ancestors. The funds we receive go toward maintaining and improving your chances of discovery. Please help us so we can continue to help you.

Thank you,
Joe Bott

Comments: Peter M. Gideon (Nee: ) | MN United States | 1851-1900 | Comments: This picture of Peter M. Gideon appears on page 241 of The American Breeders Magazine, vol.1, no.4, 1910. Please see that reference for more details. There is a biographical sketch of him on pages 242-243,245 of that volume. Gideon was born in Champaign County, OH in 1818. In 1841 he moved to Illinois and in 1853 to Minnesota. He was involved in fruit breeding and developed the Wealth apple variety He died in 1899. That is all the information I have on this picture. I am not researching this line, just saw the photo and thought I'd post it.
