Comments: Jane Margaret Eaves (Nee: Newman) | Applesprings TX United States | 1851-1900 | Comments: Jane Margaret Newman was born about 1845, in Georgia we think. She married 1877 to Isaac Shelby Eaves, his third and last wife. He died about 1876 and she died a year later in 1877. They lived near Groveton, Texas. She left two small sons, Stephen Willie & Henry Hager Eaves who were raised by half-brothers & sons from Isaac's previous marriages. When Jane fell ill, one of her step-daughters had gone to help her and found the two boys eating moldy cornbread and Jane out of her head with high fever. She was insisting she heard something in the henhouse and the step-daughter barricaded her in the bedroom to keep her from harming herself or the boys. She died alone in the bedroom.
