Dead Fred's Genealogy Photo Archive, a free, fun photo genealogy research web site devoted to helping you visualize your heritage!

Dear readers,

We need your help. 90% of our expenses are covered by donations averaging $10, though not many visitors contribute. If each visitor reading this right now gave $2, we would have enough to operate DeadFred for a year. That's right, the price of a bottle of soda would do it. If DeadFred is helpful to you, please take a moment to help us. We are a very small group of volunteers serving thousands of readers daily with very little outside support. DeadFred is a place to share and discover the faces of your ancestors. The funds we receive go toward maintaining and improving your chances of discovery. Please help us so we can continue to help you.

Thank you,
Joe Bott

Comments: G. C. Caston (Nee: ) | Craighurst Ontario Canada | 1851-1900 | Comments: This portrait of Mr. G. C. Caston appears on page 296 of The Canadian Horticulturist, vol.23, no.7, July 1900. See that reference for more details. Mr. Caston was born in the village of Craighurst in Canada. In his youth he worked art farming. He then worked for several years at a milling business but later returned to agriculture. He planted an orchard and became a member of the Ontario Fruit Growers' Association. In 1894 he took on management of the Experimental Fruit Station for Simcoe County. That is all the information I have on him. I am not researching this line, just saw the photo and thought I'd post it.
