Husband of Erma Iola Ashby Jones Curtis. Elda Doyle Jones earned his living during wherever he could during the depression era. In his early years he hopped freight trains all over Colorado working everywhere. He got off the freight train in Sterling, CO at the sugar factory across the tracks from "Aunt Millie's House" Erma Iola Ashby's Aunt. Early in life, he worked gold and silver mines. Later in life he worked as a welder and in the shipping yards of WA and CA and at the last part of his life he build water dams and water towers. He liked the "High Jobs", he said.
