June had her name changed from Abby June Carlisle to June Elizabeth Penney when she was twenty-two years of age as she had lived with her sister Margaret and her brother-in-law Rufus E. Penney after reaching the age of five. June was a teacher in the Bangor Public Schools and lived in Bangor. She died at the home of her sister Helen in Brewer, aged 56. June had never married.
