Dead Fred's Genealogy Photo Archive, a free, fun photo genealogy research web site devoted to helping you visualize your heritage!

Dear readers,

Please help us keep DeadFred alive. 90% of our expenses are supported by donations averaging $5. Not many visitors contribute. If each visitor reading this right now gave $2, our fundraiser would be done by the time you finish reading this. That's right, the price of a large can of soda would do it.

If DeadFred is helpful to you, please take a moment to help us. We are a very small group of volunteers serving thousands of readers daily with very little outside support. DeadFred is a place to share and discover the faces of your ancestors. The funds we receive go toward maintaining and improving your chances of discovery. Please help us so we can continue to help you.

Thank you,
Joe Bott

Comments: John ( & Josie) Johnson (Nee: unknown) | Grand Rapids MI United States | 1851-1900 | Comments: John Joanson (Johan Johansson), a twin of Charles Johnson (Carl Johansson), was b. 23 June 1856, in Alster Parish, Varmland, Sweden. He and his non-identical twin brother emigrated about 1886 to Grand Rapids, Kent, MI. They Americanized their names. John Johnson married Josie, probably in MI and had several children. Family oral history says that authorities removed three children from the home because the parents were heavy drinkers. When the parents could not get the children back, they were said to have moved to CA. No further contact known. See Carl Johansson / Charles Johnson (twin)photo. I'd love to find out what happened to John Johnson and wife Josie. Anyone recogize the photo?
