Comments: Ruth Mathews (Nee: White) | TX United States | 1901-1920 | Comments: This is a photo of John J. Mathews and his wife (to the right), Ruth White Mathews. I am unble to identify the other lady, but think she may be a sister of John J. Mathews. Ruth is my great-great aunt, born 11 August 1876 in Shoal Creek, Arkansas. Her parents were Milton J. White and Eliza F. Whitworth White. Ruth and John were married 3 Jan 1891. According to my grandmother, they never had children. I also recall my grandmother telling me that John was in the oil business in the vicinity of Gilmer Texas, at some point.
