Dead Fred's Genealogy Photo Archive, a free, fun photo genealogy research web site devoted to helping you visualize your heritage!

Dear readers,

We need your help. 90% of our expenses are covered by donations averaging $10, though not many visitors contribute. If each visitor reading this right now gave $2, we would have enough to operate DeadFred for a year. That's right, the price of a bottle of soda would do it. If DeadFred is helpful to you, please take a moment to help us. We are a very small group of volunteers serving thousands of readers daily with very little outside support. DeadFred is a place to share and discover the faces of your ancestors. The funds we receive go toward maintaining and improving your chances of discovery. Please help us so we can continue to help you.

Thank you,
Joe Bott

With her parents, William and Sarah Worley Allen, and a large family, they moved to Sullivan Co., MO. about 1840. She married Joseph Lewis there in 1851, and soon thereafter, traveled by wagon to the California Gold fields, namely, Calaveras Co. Not successful at gold mining, Joseph took his growing family to Tulare Co., where with seveal related families, he homesteaded a section of land on the banks of the Tule River, in what eventually would become the Westfield section of Porterville. She gave birth to 12 children between 1852 and 1878. [R. Cosby, great great grandson.]
