Comments: Florence Elizabeth Bahr (Nee: Riefle) | Elkridge MD United States | 1921-1940 | Comments: Florence E. Riefle married Leonard Marion Bahr in 1934. She was born Feb. 2, 1909 to parents James H. and Florence Riefle of Baltimore City. She and Leonard moved to Elkridge, MD in 1947 and they had three children. Florence was gifted and became a well-known Maryland artist and activist, using her art to bring changes for civil rights and anti-war causes. She was posthumously awarded ''Woman of the Year'' in 1999 by the State of Maryland and her biography is included in the book ''Women of Achievement in Maryland History'' (2002). In 1998, Florence tragically died in house/studio fire.
