Comments: Jim Dodd (Nee: ) | Corinth MS United States | 1851-1900 | Comments: Trying to match with other Dodd in my family line, Archive Note: 8/23/2006 From Colleen Fitzpatrick, http://www.forensicgenealogy.info/ to owner **Regarding photo #30889 The picture was taken between 1853 and about 1866. This is the time period when Union cases were popular. (That is the type of box the picture is enclosed in. Union case was a brand name but has come to be used for the generic kind of boxbox.) The photo is an Ambrotype. Check to see which photography studios were in business in Corinth, MS during that time period. The photo might not have been taken in Corinth, but at least it's worth a try to see if there are other photos out there that were taken in Corinth that are similar. If the photographer was in business for only a short time, that would narrow it down the time period some more.**
