Featured in the photograph is Emile Roberts and Sophie Louise Valtille (Roberts), my grandfather and grandmother. Emile and Sophie resided in Lehigh, Oklahoma. Emile Roberts worked in the coal mines in Lehigh, later he became a furniture repairman in a local furniture store and finally he worked for the city government as City Water Superintendent for the City of Lehigh. Sophie on the otherhand was a fashion designer once for a lace factory in Lille, France, she drew sketches for various lace designs. Emile had 2 brothers, they were: Joseph Roberts a WWI Military Policeman and Alphonse Roberts aka Frenchie. My father Paul Marceau Roberts who is the son of Emile & Sophie Roberts was raised in Lehigh, Oklahoma and at the early age of 12, flew a dustcropper for his mother and father on their farm. My father's sister Yvonne later married and had children and one of her children Paul Leaird, became the Mayor of Lehigh, Oklahoma. Bio on Emile Roberts: Born 8/14/1890 Died: 9/29/1982. Bio on Sophie Louise Valtille (Roberts): Born: 6/1/1892 Died: 9/21/1978.
