Louis met Ida while he was living at Ida's father's hotel in Charter Oak. He built a home for Ida when they were married...it is still standing and in use by their oldest daughter and, built three houses for the Franz Reetz. Louis was the contractor for St. John's Lutheran School, and was the carpenty subcontractor for St. John's church in Charter Oak, which William Noxsel helped build.
