Bowlby (Nee: ) | Logan OH United States | 1851-1900 | Comments: I have an old studio photograph of Kate BOWLBY of Logan, OH which was taken at the Osborne Studio in Wooster, OH. Kate appears to be in her 20's or 30's at the time the photograph was taken in the 1880's or 1890's. Kate is referenced as being at the University of Wooster, though I'm not sure if she was a student, teacher, or administrator because it doesn't reference a specific class.
Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Kate and her family:
Katherine or Catherine “Kate” A. BOWLBY was b. 1855 or 1857 in Logan Township, Hocking County, OH to parents William Ribble BOWLBY (1829-1900 or 1902) and Rebecca Jane LINDSAY (1830-1863) or Jane or June SMITH (1834 or 1836-1885). Kate was one of 10 children born to this father including Rachel A.; Kate; Charles Mathew; James Franklin; Elizabeth Jane; Margaret “Maggie”; William M.; Mary Margaret; Nan M.; and Joseph L. BOWLBY, all born between 1855 and 1870 to one of the two mothers identified.
Kate died 14 Oct 1925 in Somerset, OH and is buried in the Somerset Cemetery in that town.
