Comments: Mary Elizabeth Dee (Nee: Condon) | New Hampton IA United States | 1851-1900 | Comments: I have an old studio photograph of Mary CONDON which was taken at the H. S. Goodall Studio in New Hampton, IA in the 1880's. Mary appears to be in her teens at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Mary and her family:
Mary Elizabeth CONDON was b. 27 Nov 1871 or 1872 in Iowa to parents Maurice CONDON (1816-1894 or 1844-1895) and Elizabeth DORSEY or DORCY (1840-1913) who were married about 1870 in Racine, WI. Mary was one of 8 children born to this couple including Margaret; Thomas; Mary Elizabeth; Maurice Francis; John Michael; John Joseph; Mary E.; and Maurice Aloysius CONDON, all born between 1861 and 1883. Maurice CONDON may have had two additional children during a previous marriage including Mary C. CONDON (1857-1949) and John Charles CONDON (b. 1858).
Mary married Thomas DEE (1865-1960) on 11 or 12 Feb 1901 in North Washington or New Hampton, IA. The couple had 7 children including Evroul James; Wava Mary; Flavin John; Francis “Frank” Maurice or Morris; William “Bill” Joseph; Robert “Bob” Charles; and Justin “Jay” Cletus DEE, all born between 1902 and 1916. Mary died 14 Nov 1937 in New Hampton, IA and she is buried in the Calvary Cemetery in New Hampton, IA.
