Dead Fred's Genealogy Photo Archive, a free, fun photo genealogy research web site devoted to helping you visualize your heritage!

Dear readers,

Please help us keep DeadFred alive. 90% of our expenses are supported by donations averaging $5. Not many visitors contribute. If each visitor reading this right now gave $2, our fundraiser would be done by the time you finish reading this. That's right, the price of a large can of soda would do it.

If DeadFred is helpful to you, please take a moment to help us. We are a very small group of volunteers serving thousands of readers daily with very little outside support. DeadFred is a place to share and discover the faces of your ancestors. The funds we receive go toward maintaining and improving your chances of discovery. Please help us so we can continue to help you.

Thank you,
Joe Bott

Comments: EARL FOSTER (Nee: ) | PA | 1851-1900 | Comments: Several students were id d on the reverse, so I believe this is the Foster Mill School, Sugarcreek Twp, Armstrong County PA. Some of the names: Pearle, Belle, Georgia, Jay Booher, Earl Foster, Flora Booher. Other notes: "a Foster teacher" -- "all the rest Crawfords and Fosters" -- "Old Foster School" Although hard to read, I was able to enlarge the slate and appears to read: "Foster School, No. 2, Iola Foster teacher, Oct 24 (not sure of year ???) From the ages of the children in my research, the year is between 1898-1902. For example, Flora Booher and brother Jay are listed in the 1900 census in Sugarcreek as being age 13 and 7 respectively. Both appear to be approx those ages in the photo. Flora has the "X" marked, and her brother Jay is in front, with his head turned. PHOTO IS FOR SALE ON EBAY, REPOSTED WITH PERMISSION
