Seine Eltern waren Johann Ferdinand von Gahlen, Apotheker in Barmen-Gemarke, (1789-1862, siehe Foto #37283) und Henriette Caroline Ruhrberg, *1791. Eine Halbschwester war Louise Jonghaus geb. von Gahlen (Fotos # 37281 und #37282). Weitere Informationen über die Familie von Gahlen werden gesucht. Emil von Gahlen, born October 26, 1828 in Barmen, died February 5, 1919 in Düsseldorf. He owned a factory producing nails in Gerresheim and was copartner, member / chairman of the board of several companies. He was married to Amalie Schwarte. His parents were Johann Ferdinand von Gahlen, apothecary in Barmen-Gemarke, 1789-1862, (see photo #37283) and Henriette Caroline Ruhrberg, *1791. Louise Jonghaus nee von Gahlen (photos # 37281 und #37282) was his half-sister. Looking for further information about the von Gahlen family.
