I happened to come upon your site and I was wondering if I could e-mail
you for more information. My grandfather, Keith Huntress, was a
student at South Portland High School in 1928, and you have several pictures
from the yearbook scanned and on your site. I would love to see
more images from the yearbook, or even the yearbook itself. Is this
possible?
Thank you for your time,
-Keith Rutledge
Eddie, Luther and Maud (Mary) are children of Ebenezer, who is my Great
Great Great Grand Uncle. Without my software I think this makes them my
1st cousins 3 times removed or something like that. Ebenezer also had
Grant, Lily Pearl, and Annie. He also had a son, Clyde, by a second marriage.
Maud married my cousin's great-grandfather J.E. Elliott, but she died
after a couple years of marriage. He then married Ada Pettengill, daughter
of George and Clara Hinchliffe Pettengill, and they had her grandmother.
Maud was her (my cousin's Marilyn) great grandfathers 1st wife and I don't
believe she had any children. Eddie and Luther were her grandfather's
business partners as well as his brothers-in-law.
This is ELMER Brisbine. Elmer Robert Brisbine was born on 30 Dec 1887
in Cass, IA. He is the son of Amelia Hinchliffe who is the sister of Hattie
Pettengill.
These are ancestors of my cousin Jeanine.
I have sent her copies of these photos and she has identified them as
her uncles. She just sent me an article about the murder of Harry Brisbine.
It seems his landlord shot him when they had an argument over when it
was time for threshing. He died of blood poisoning from the gunshot wounds.

My great-grandfather was George Isham - but he dropped out of the family sometime around 1910. Legend has it that he was a railroad engineer (whether construction or locomotive is unknown) who traveled west from Michigan with the railroads. Your site is much appreciated. I have many old photos I intend to add, a few at a time.

I came across a picture, McGhan, John who I believe is my Great Great Great
Great Grandfather. I recently started my family tree and it was so cool
to put a face with a name.
Thank you so much!!!!

Thanks for the [site] |
I was surprised to find a photo of my mother and uncle in photo#12428
from the 1923 West Lampeter Vocational School. My mother is the ninth
girl in the middle row from the left, Anna Ethel Bigler (Berger)b.11-7-1906
d.11-5-1986. My uncle is the fourth boy in the front row from the left
Adam (Bud) Gochnauer Bigler. Also in the same book photo#12428 is my aunt
Elizabeth(Betz) Bigler(Rouf)b.11-18-1904 d.9-17-1993.
Thanks for the memory.
Hope you can use the information.

The photos of Tempie and Martin Jacks are of extreme interest to me...
Martin and Tempie are my paternal great great great grandparents.
I grew up in the log house that they built in Stewart, Mississippi. In
fact they were some of the very first settlers to that area. Until recently,
when were forced to tear it down the log cabin was still standing. I'm
interested in obtaining the original photos however I need to do so if
they are available. I think that the other men pictured are their children
and would be my great great uncles. I do not think that my great great
grandfather Nicholas Daniel is one of them unless he may be the baby.
Thank you in advance for your response.
Sincerely,
Angelyn Jacks Mccaulla

Here's my donation to thank you for your site. My Great Grandfather Truett hasn't found a first name yet but so long as DeadFred is there, there's a chance to find it.

I have hundreds of old glass plate negatives of family and others - many
unidentified. They date back to the 1870s. My great/grandfathers were
photo buffs. I am looking for assistance in printing, preserving and archiving
these plates. HELP!
Thanks,
Kate

Love this web site!
I have a nicely illuminated marriage license, written in German, for a
couple that was married in Ann Arbor, MI on September 7, 1887. Gustav
Kasuchke married Alwine Herman with 2 relatives as witnesses. I would
be delighted to send this wonderful piece of family memorabilia to a relative
who can suggest who might have witnessed the marriage. I am sure of the
names, because the handwriting is very readable.

Comments: I think that the childs are daughters of William Clausen and
Nielsine Johanne Mogensen. They were both born on the danish island Bornholm.
They married in 1888, and moved to Lewiston later that year. They had
4 daughters, all born in the 1890s, so this photo might be from the late
1890s. They might have changed the Clausen name to Clawson. Photographer
