British Isle Photography Project Maps UK
For those of you who find yourself wandering around the countryside of the British Isles taking pictures, there is now a place for you to upload all of your photos.
Geograph British Isles project (www.geograph.org.uk) aims to collect geographically representative photographs and information for every square kilometre in Great Britain and Ireland. Already they have over 700,000 photos in their third year.
They were named Yahoo’s “Find of the Year” in 2006 in the “Travel” category.

In my brief exploration, I found a photo of a parked tank in the middle of a field 3km from Bewcastle, Cumbria, Great Britain. The caption says “Target: Target vehicle used on the Spadeadam range.” Photo © Peter McDermott under Creative Commons.
